課程概述

這門課的目的, 在介紹學生熟悉太平洋群島的人與文化。在島嶼有限的環境中, 自然的力量相對強大, 而文化愈顯活潑有彈性. 也成就了豐富多樣的屬於太平洋的文化。太平洋群島地理上與台灣接近; 而與台灣原住民族所使用的語言, 均同屬南島語族. 自是台灣學生學習容忍, 了解, 欣賞異文化一個極佳的起點。

課程目標

課程要求

本課程鼓勵同學積極參與。上課先由兩組負責同學報告島嶼新聞；隨後六十分鐘由老師講授，下課二十分鐘，第二階段五十分鐘先由同學針對閱讀與講授部份提出問題，釐清，最後再由老師提出問題並進一步討論。選課同學兩人為一組，選定一島嶼，一方面負責在學期當中三次提供當周當地的頭條新聞，另一方面建立島嶼相關書目並完成文獻的初步分析。同學每交出一份八百字內的書面摘要，可得總分一分，以不超出十分為限。
